Grant Mason
Age: 25
Nickname: N/A
Occupation: Ranch Foreman
Face Claim: Christian Kane
Alias: Nova
APPEARANCE:
Gender: Male
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 180 lbs
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Pale Blue
Appearance: Grant is of average height with a lean build, and a deep tan from his years among the people and his current work on a ranch just outside of the town of Golden Valley.
PERSONALITY:
Grant is a quiet, self contained loner, who prefers the company of animals over the company of most people. Despite his average build, there is an air of foreboding about him, and many a would be tough has backed down when faced with his steely eyed stare. Grant is a man who not at peace with his world. He's got a gentle side, but few have ever seen it. He's a hard worker, and has earned the respect of the crew since he never asks them to do anything he's not willing to do himself.
HISTORY:
When Grant was a toddler he and his mother were captured by a Cherokee Warrior named Windrider. Renamed Grey Wolf by his adopted father, Grant was raised a member of the tribe, but taught the language and ways of his mother's people. They were happy with their lives among the people until his mother's death when he was fifteen. Shortly after that, the army forced the people on to reservations, and the removal of the children who were clearly not of the people.
Adrift between the only world he'd ever known, but wasn't allowed to remain a part of, and the white man's world, who looked down on him for his ties to the people, Grant wandered the country, learning the ways of the whites until he ended up in Golden Valley. He hired on at one of the nearby ranches and spent the last several years working his way up the ranks.
Grant's older brother War Cloud was killed in battle between the Cherokee and the whites years ago, and while his adopted father and younger siblings, Sky Raven and Night Hawk are all still alive, Grant hates that they have been forced to live on a Reservation.
He sends the bulk of his money to them as often as he can, knowing that it allows Windrider to better provide for Sky Raven, Night Hawk and as many of the people as the money can.
His birth father was killed in the raid when Grant and his mother were taken, and if he has surviving relatives he's unaware of them.
