SAMUEL MICHAEL PRESCOTT
Age: 12
Nickname: Sam, Sammy
Occupation: Street Kid, Pickpocket, Looking for Work
Face Claim: Gabriel Bateman
Alias: Chris
APPEARANCE:
Gender: Male
Height: 4’9”
Weight: 70lbs
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Appearance:
Sam is a young kid that’s a bit on the shorter side, as well as scrawny. He usually comes off a bit dirty and unkempt, being on the streets and constantly on the move, wearing tattered and worn down clothing.
PERSONALITY:
Given his rougher upbringing, and now even tougher situation, Sam is a bit rough around the edges. A nice kid overall, Sam’s biggest faults come from his rather fight or flight nature. Known for picking fights when he gets himself in a bad situation, or simply is caught stealing to survive, some would call him a spitfire, and they’d be right.
Underneath it all, however, Sam is a good, honest kid in a bad situation. Bruised and saddened by his past, Sam is oftentimes soft spoken at first, but once he’s come out of his shell, he’s a talkative, funny type.
On top of this, Sam is a very compassionate kid. Having been abused and being made to take care of his parents’ animals absolutely has caused him to develop this as a person. Sam would go out of his way to help other children in need, even if it might be misguided because of his own situation. His softer nature is likewise transitioned onto animals, whom he has a deep fondness of and respect for. Some would say he likes animals more than people in a way, given he spent more time with them in his youth.
HISTORY:
Sam’s only been around a short time, but he’s had a hard life. Born to parents who were more concerned with free labor than a son, his first years were spent in constant fear of his father’s belt. As his parents’ rarely showed any kindness, San was often treated no better than a slave. As a result, Sam learned to keep his head down, his mouth shut, and himself busy in hopes he’d get to eat that night and sleep at a decent hour.
During this time, Sam learned about a thing called compassion. The only ones that had it worse on his parents’ farm were the animals, who he often was made to take care of. Taking care of them taught him responsibility, and watching how they were also treated helped him to develop the notion he is not the only one suffering. As a result, from a young age he developed a deep respect for animals and compassion for others all in one.
When he was ten, his “relief” came. Whilst out in the fields one day, his family’s barn caught fire, causing a great deal of chaos. Taking this as his chance to make an escape from his terrible life, and moreover a chance to make out on his own, he left his home and never looked back.
Since then, Sam has traveled town to town as a young drifter. Attempting to find good and honest work, but often having to live off what he could steal to survive. He considers it a better life than he once had, but a deeply lonely one that has left him a somewhat angry youth.
His travels, and attempts to find a steady place to live and work have brought him to Golden Valley. He’s hardly expecting anything to change - but as he often has hoped being in other places, is desperately hoping to find work so he can finally stop and have a place to stay. Or even a place to call his own.
