Age: 20
Nickname: Bobby
Occupation: Miner
Face Claim: Robert Sheehan
Alias: Gfictional
Gender: Male
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 145 lbs.
Hair Color: Dark brown
Eye Color: Green
Appearance: Tall, lanky, and pale, most people would tend to underestimate Robert at first glance but actually though his frame is thin, he is quite fit and surprisingly strong due to the constant hard physical labor he puts in the mine paired with a poor diet and high metabolism. His hair is a curly mess and lately has been trying to grow a bit of facial hair, a shadow of a mustache and the weedy beginnings of a goatee.
Ryan has had a hard life thus far but despite that, he has an almost irrepressible attitude and light hearted spirit about life. He loves to joke and tease and flirt with the ladies. Of course he has a serious side to him, making a living as a miner is a rather grim matter. But it's a job and he needs to eat. Though well aware there are a lot of folks in the country who do not like the Irish, he is never shy about revealing his foreign background. Uneducated, he openly admits to that too. Some think his blunt honesty about everything foolhardy but others find it refreshing in it's sincerity.
HISTORY:
Ryan was the second of five children born to a dirt farmer family in rural Ireland. Two of the children died as infants. His father was a hard man and heavy drinker, which got worse as conditions for farming grew worse. It was his mother who advised Sean, his older brother, to take Ryan and start up fresh in the United States. The brothers were close and bonded even closer once they landed in New York, a whole different world than rural Ireland. They had to find any work they could in the huge city while dealing with being foreigners and oft despised by some native Americans tired of being flooded with 'those no good Papist Irish'. They gave it a try for about a year before deciding to once more find someplace where the grass was greener and decided to head out west where stories abounded of vast riches waiting to be plucked from the ground. Sean contracted cholera just after leaving St. Louis and died with Ryan helpless to do anything to save his brother.
Now alone, Ryan chose to keep going with their original plan - take up prospecting even though he knew nothing about the specifics. It didn't quite work out that way for him though, his only private claim proved to be worthless, he never found a single nugget. Currently he has been working in a silver mine owned by an older man and thus far they have barely scraped by but their hopes remain high.
